The next Essex Championship Race will be the ATWFNR 5k incorporating the Essex 5k Road Running Championships, being held on Friday 9th August at Colchester Sports Park.
This event is not part of the Essex Road Running Grand Prix, but Essex 5k Road Running Champions will be decided.
The evening will start with a 1 Mile race aimed at Juniors, followed by various ceded 5k Open and Essex Champs Races, finishing with an Elite Women’s 5k (sub 21 minutes) and an Elite Men’s 5k (sub 17 minutes), both also incorporating the Essex Champs.
The race timings and groupings will be provided prior to the event and runners are responsible for choosing the most appropriate race for their estimated finishing time.
Prizes are being awarded to the top 3-5 in the Women’s and Men’s Elite races as follows:
  • 2 x VIP box tickets for McFly at the O2 for top 3 in each of the men’s and women’s elite races.
  • £200, £150, £100 SOAR vouchers for top 3 in each of the men’s and women’s races, plus £100 for top U18 in each race)
  • £150, £100, £50, £25, £10 cash prize for top 5 in each of the men’s and women’s elite races.
  • Polar Vantage M2 Watch for each of the elite race winners.
  • Team Vaga Hat and Shyu socks for the top 3 in each of the men’s and women’s elite races.
  • Tiptree Tea-Room Vouchers for each of the elite race winners.
  • Treadmill Test at Essex University Human Performance Unit for each of the elite race winners.
We encourage participants to bring friends and family as this is a spectator friendly event – food and drink will be available as well as a DJ for the evening.
Please allow plenty of time for travel bearing in mind the timing of the event and the road works on the A12 at Colchester.
